Ribbon Community's office is on the past, present, and future homelands of Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Indigenous Peoples. We honour the ongoing relationship between these Indigenous Peoples and the land, the ongoing impacts of colonization, and strive to foster Indigenous leadership within the HIV movement broadly and our own organization.

Ribbon Community was founded as Vancouver AIDS Society in 1983. With our new name and vision, we will continue to include the important lessons of AIDS, as much as we can know them, and support people who have a past or present AIDS diagnosis, and those for whom the AIDS days loom large. Our Registered Charity name is Ribbon Community Society (10668 9896 RR0001).

Vision Our Future
Ribbon Community was founded as AIDS Vancouver in 1983. We changed our name in March 2024, choosing a name that pulls the past, present and future of the HIV movement together. We support and empower communities in overcoming the impacts of HIV and stigma.
