CBRC Two-Spirit Day and Pipe Ceremony

Two-Spirit and Indigenous LGBTQQIA+ Celebration and Awareness Day has been recognized on Spring Equinox for the past three years in BC, thanks to the leadership of the Two-Spirit Team at the Community-Based Research Centre. This is an opportunity to honour and center the brilliance of Two-Spirit and gender diverse Indigenous people and celebrate the diversity of gender and sexualities that have always existed within Indigenous communities. 

The Indigenous Committee at Ribbon Community is pleased to be offering a Pipe Ceremony, facilitated by Rob Lamoureux, as part of these celebrations. Details to come! 

Event will be held at The BirdHouse @ 44 West 4th Avenue, (W 4th Ave and Manitoba St) Vancouver.

 

Dental Hygiene Clinic at Ribbon (appointment required)

We are so grateful for the UBC team that provides a dental hygiene clinic to Ribbon Community members for free at our building on 1101 Seymour St. While appointments are now full, you can add your name to the cancellation waitlist for appointments from now until April 2. This program will be back in September 2025, and we will have six appointments available per day instead of our current four.

Income Tax Clinic (appointment required)

The Forum (via Zoom)

March 25 | 2:00 - 4:00 PM

The Forum is an online, provincial, peer-led event for people living with HIV in BC interested in making changes to policies that affect us every day. This peer-led forum will feature discussions on HIV policy, and barriers to advocacy.

We will be intentionally selecting participants to reflect the many communities that make Ribbon Community possible. Apply online, at Reception, or with Jasmine no later than March 17 at 5pm.
