Long Acting HIV Treatment & Prevention Webinar (July 10, 10-11:30PM)

Join Health Initiative for Men (HIM) , PAN and Ribbon Community for an overview of a new innovation in HIV treatment and prevention options. Health Canada has approved long-acting options for HIV treatment and prevention, and this is an opportunity to discuss exciting changes in how we can treat and prevent HIV.

Long-acting PrEP, called Apretude, is approved by Health Canada. However, it is not yet available through provincial or federal plans.

Two long-acting HIV treatments are approved by Health Canada and provided by the BC Centre for Excellence under specific circumstances on a case-by-case basis: Cabenuva and Sunlenca.

This webinar will empower frontline staff, educators, and community members with new information on long-acting HIV treatment and prevention options and highlight current realities for accessing long-acting medications in BC.

Registration is hosted by PAN and is required to participate.

Free air conditioner? Yes, please. (July 9, 1-3pm)

Now that summer is here, we want to keep our communities stay as cool and prepared as possible. BC Hydro has a program to make free portable air conditioners available to people based on income, and we would love to help you figure out if this is right for you.

A case manager will be available on July 9 from 1-3pm to help clients complete this application. There are two steps:

1. approval from your landlord, building manager or BC Housing

2. submit a BC Hydro application.

Not sure if you are eligible? Come by on Tuesday, July 9th between 1pm -3pm. One of our case managers will try and help you find out, and answer any other questions you may have.
